There are more than 70 federal and provincial programs for economic immigration , including several pilot programs functioning at this date.

Generally, to be considered for business immigration, they must demonstrate presence of legally earned capital, ability to carry out a business project or an investment, 2-5 years of business relevant experience, knowledge of English or French, and a detailed business plan targeting the Canadian market.
